NOVI was founded in 2017 by Caltech, MIT and Carnegie Mellon grads - each with almost three decades of experience in successfully commercializing and transacting aerospace and AI technologies.

2018-19

Earned 3rd place at the inaugural Hyperspace Challenge Accelerator - spotlighting advanced space analytics.

R&D and Deep Tech Validation

Tech Matures into Integrated Missions

Awarded Missile Defense Agency Phase II contract for on-orbit AI processing development and demonstration.

Spun out PAVE-AI, Inc. from NOVI with a focus on AI for pavement condition assessment; acquired by Terracon Inc.

Trusted by the DoD for On-Orbit AI

Breakout Year for National Security and Industry Traction

Released the SP240, NOVI’s next-gen on-board computer — now commercially available.

Delivered a Missile Defense Agency mission payload set for launch to the ISS aboard SpaceX Dragon (Q2).

2025
INTO ORBIt, AT SCALE

Successfully launched NOVI’s satellite on SpaceX Transporter 12 to perform an Air Force mission.

Commissioned and operated NOVI’s first full-stack satellite with the SP240 OBC.

Transitioned to NOVI Space, Inc., marking commercial expansion and VISTAsat deployment.

Manifested NOVI's first two commercial satellites (N1-ATLAS and N2-P-Body) for launch on SpaceX Transporters 16 and 17.
